Hi, New to this thread, usually post on inner ear, but I thought I would ask if anyone knew anything about chronic exposure to natural gas, I had 3 small gas leaks in my aparment from September until July, 8 months, noticed waking up with stomach cramps, fatigue and weight gain and dizziness. Did some research but hard to find out about imapact on Body. Natural gas is not Carbon Monoxide. Anyone know anything.

They think I have an inner ear issue causing anxiety, vision problems and dizziness and I hope that is it but I just keep thinking about the gas leak. UGh.

ANy thoughts
Thanks Jade

i don't think natural gas would cause such issues.
if in doubt ask at the health dept.

I would call your local poison contol center for clarification on this. They know just about EVERYTHING there is to know about any possibly hazardous and non hazardous substances that we could come in contact with.they should be listed somewhere in the front few pages of your phone book.If you cannot find it there, just call information.this is a number that everyone should look up and have posted somewhere near their phone,as you never know just what can happen at anytime.Espescially when you have small children.hope this helps.Marcia

jadeearth,

Natural Gas is almost all methane, the simplest hydrocarbon. It burns very clean and is usually VERY safe as fuel.
With a massive leak it could be dangerous especially if it deplaces the oxygen in a room...but an overdose is not likely outside a swampy bog (methane is a product of rotting plants.)

I had a gas leak in our house for about a week or so. BIG leak. Smelled it all over. My wife was getting headaches. I wasn't sure if it was the gas or not. Anyway, all the symptoms you give ARE listed symptoms of natural gas exposure. Can't recall any particular site, but a search should pull up many links. I don't think they're supposed to last long though, so your inquiry is a bit puzzling.

As for me, the gas leak didn't affect me at all that I noticed. I'm already miserable from some type of problem I have yet to be diagnosed with anyway. :)
