What do people think of the following statement (mind you, it came from a commmercial website).
"Almost 90% of childhood infections and conditions like colds, diaper rash, thrush, ear infections, tonsillitis, colic, constipation and diarrhea are caused by Candida and a lack of friendly bacteria."

The only problem with statements like that is it's some one's opinion ---since Candida is present in everyone's body and you can't test for candida infections or overgrowth.
Is any medical research going on to prove such things???
I do know taking some strong antibiotics will mess up the friendly bacteria in your GI tract and give alot of people diarrhea.

I agree with your comments regarding antibiotics Harry. I quoted the text out of context. There was more to it than that. It was presented as being very erudite but it was a commercial site. However, we don't know enough about these things. Australian research suggests that a certain parasite mimics IBS and many people who have IBS might get relief by getting rid of the parasite which is very common (even though tests come up as being negative - but that is a technical problem because if the laboratory technicians are not specifically trained they will not pick up the parasite).
