I have a bad cold and pleurisy right now. Only a month ago I had pneumonia with pleurisy. What keeps worrying me is that when I inhale I have this air pressure type feeling that goes up my collarbone and through the top of my left shoulder. The same side that I have the pleurisy on. Could it be symptoms of some kind of cancer? Please give me any comments and thoughts you have. I am awaiting on a rhuematologist visit soon,but am scared.thankyou so much.l

Im not a Dr. But if you have concerns especially after reading letters in here YOUR WORTH a follow up and to press for proper tests..ie..CT scan. Dr's are merely human to and I think sometimes they get so over whelmed in their jobs they overlook things that we need to bring to their attention... Your your best advocate!! So get on the 'gloves' and climb in the ring !!! Hugz mattie

First, I've had pleurisy and pneumonnia too many times to count- starting when I was 18.

The pleurisy can cause the type of pain you're having right now. But, as already suggested, they need to do some tests.

A lung CT, Pulmonary function tests, and a chest x-ray to start!

You don't mention how old you are.

Another thing that can cause that type of feeling is a collapsing lung. Please get seen when you can!

I am starting to feel better after taking some more antibiotics and inhalation treatments. I will be seeing a rhuematologist next thursday for 1st appointment. My gp tends to think I may have a connective tissue disorder. I do have many more symptoms. I am 51.
