Have been constipated for a couple of days did an enema hardly anything came out(stomach all gassy bloated and gurgling) I drank some paudarco tea for candida and felt the urge for a bowel movement and passed 2 cups of mucus. What does mucus mean? It was just mucus.

It is slimey stuff that is not part of the stool if I can put it that way. It comes from the lining of the intestines. Mucus is necessary for proper bowel movement and digestion but excess mucus means that there is a problem.

If all you had was mucus, that means that you had nothing in the way of feces (digested food) in your colon for emptying out - or perhaps that your constipation is so bad that it has compacted ie gone rock hard so that it will not come out without more effort. If you have compaction, you will need to see a doctor as it can be serious in some cases.

With an impaction there is not always pain. Pain is usually found with a bowel obstruction though. You mention 2 days.............was that just 2 days without a BM or something different. Also what type of enema did you take and how much? If you are truely constipated ie: hard dry stools then you may want to use a soap suds enema about a quart or so and then follow up with a baking soda enema to help clean out any residual soap. Or you can use just a baking soda enema with about a tsp of baking soda per quart of warm H20 if that works for you. Keep in mind though if your stools are not hard and dry then that is not true constipation. Frequency is not always part of constipation if the stools are are not hard and dry.

Also if the stool is hard and dry you may need to start with an oil retention enema first before doing the other enema's to help lubricate the stool and you rectal vault. If all else fails you might ask your doctor about a 3H enema and see how he feels about this. A 3H enema is a High Hot and Hellof a lot enema and yes this is a proper medical term but docs rarely right orders for those any more.
