Has any one been to the Rudd clinic in Toronto or Oakville?
I am trying to find a surgeon currently operating (during this whole SARS shut down!) and I stumbled across the Rudd clinic and was just wondering if people who had been there could inform me of some things....?

1. Is their care covered by OHIP? or because it is a private clinic is it a cash thing? or an insurance thing?

2. How was the level of care pre and post op? Informative, supportive, attentive? Was your post op pain and comfort well managed or did you have to puzzle that out by your self? (stool softeners etc)

3. I am looking into their cryotherapy and was wondering how that procedure compared to others you may have experienced in terms of pain, length of recovery etc.

I had posted this idea previously under another thread but I only received one response (thanks to that one respondent http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif So I am hoping for more attention to this question this time. Any information at all would be very helpful.
many thanks sammy

I went to the one in Toronto
1. It's covered by OHIP.
2. They give you written info on pre-op and post-op care, however if there's something on it that you don't understand, ASK them, because the doctor I had did not really go out of his way to let me know. He seemed really busy and rushed (lots of patients).
3. Not sure about.

Thanks for the speedy reply, I had heard before that they were all business as well, but if it gets the job done before next october (which is when my other surgeon is scheduling "elective" surgeries, that would be great!!!

Like any one who has had a thrombosed hemmerhoid would call it elective..... it hurts and is a constant pain in the a$$ definitely impinging on all day to day activites as well as work and family!

Any one else been there????? or even heard any thing?
sammy
