Does it matter if a stool floats or sinks?

Also, I had gray spots n my stool yesterda, what could cause this? I have eaten a lot of fish lately which was white in color, and since I'm jewish I have been eating matzah lately, which is flour and water only...which would probably not activate bile really and keep it's color

Forgot to mention - This hasn't been happening with diarrhea or stomach pains, and also the entire stool was not pale/white/grey, only parts of it. The stool was normal size
