I have been having problems for about the last year and a half
with my white cells being high.
the last 5 tests my wbc was 21, 17, 13, 14, and last week 22.
I was sent to our local Cancer Center for blood tests and the doctor told me the reason i "may" have the elevated count is because my iron level is extremely low. I was not scheduled a follow up appt.
I have been seeing a gastrologist for about a month and yesterday she did a EGD & Colonoscopy. Both tests were normal.
(Had another colonoscopy last dec with same results).
My main complaints, Hematuria, Menorrhagia, rectal bleeding(3 to 11 days of heavy bright red blood that soaks a maxi pad), chronic pain in the right side.
The doctor i am seeing is sending me to the Cancer center 3 1/2 hours away and says i may need to have a bone marrow test. I am wondering why i can't just be seen here because that is a long drive.
She says the doctors up their are familar with more rare forms of cancer. I am confussed. I woke up from being sedated and didn't ask alot of questions.
Has anyone else ever had these problems before?
