Hi! My mom has a problem with her hair thinning. It has been happening over the last 7 yrs, but getting much worse over the last 2. Its mainly at the very front (around her forehead) and from there it spreads to the top of her head. She had tryed Nioxin and some other shampoos/conditioners. She is now using a product called Toppik, which is a powder the same color as her hair, that she sprinkles on her scalp to camoflauge. She also had a hair transplant procedure done about 6 months ago (not seeing much result). While we were watching one of the many makeover shows, we saw them do a procedure we've never seen before. They cut a thin piece of plastic to fit the thinning spot. They then covered the entire plastic sheet with hair (sewing it on) afterwards they sewed it straight onto his head (and he had much less hair then my mom does). You could swim, take showers, style, and brush it! It was amazing! I really would like to look into this for her, but they did not say the name of the procedure. I am hoping someone here can help me out. I truely hate seeing my mom like this. It really holds her back from doing a lot of the things she wants to do. She wont swim, she always has to wear her hair a certain way to mask the thinning, she hardly leaves the house without wearing a hat, she cryies, etc.. I could literally go on and on, lol. I hope you can help me. BTW She's only 45!!
