Has Anyone Had Their Bp Get Higher While Taking Altace????

I've never taken altace, but my bp does rise when i take toprol xl. It sometimes spikes when i take my verapamil also.

It might sound nuts, but Altace did nothing for my BP, and yes, it use to spike ALOT! Altace gave me heart palps, diarrhea, flushing, and some foot and ankle swelling. My old dr. wouldn't take me off of it, said it was a great drug, well it might be for some, but it stunk for me. I finally took myself off of it and had my new dr. put me on Avapro. Not all meds. work the same on all folks. I was on it for over a year, so I know I gave it time to try and work!!

Don't know how long U have been on it, but if your BP doesn't come down within a few weeks to a month, have the dr. change your meds. U know your body better then anyone else, so don't take no for an answer if your dr. gives U a hard time. Good luck.... :wave:

I have taken Altace and it works great for me. It did not increase my BP nor did it make me swell or anything. I recently saw a cardiologist and he perscribed Toprol XL. This is the first day I have taken it so I cant really tell how well it works yet. My BP is a lil higher right now though. I can tell I havent taken my Altace.

Yes! It made me more nervous-anxious, made me feel like junk & did raise my B/P. Altace was the worst drug that I was ever on. Toprol & Atenolol are tied for 2nd.
