I missed my pill last night becuase I thought I was going off birth control earlier in the day, had sex last night with bf thinking that it was ok as long as I took 2 pills the next day.

I feel so guilty because my bf asked me if it was ok becuase I told him I missed my pill that day, and I had recalled that i didnt need other protection as long as I took 2 pills.

Am I wrong? I really dont want to take Plan B unless necessary. And how much is it usually?

 Whats the plan B pill?? Is that the same as the day after pill? From what i've heard (on talk sex w/sue) the day after pill gives you your period, i guess to flush the egg out or something? I may be wrong!?

If there is a diff from the day after pill and the plan b pill let me know though!

Check your patient info. Mine says if you miss one pill you don't need backup. And I don't mean to start a debate either, but given your beliefs you might want to check out the 3 mechanisms of birth control pills to figure out if you are ok with using them morally...

If you take 1 now or 2 tomorrow you should be OK according to most packets.

No debate or judgement - Just so you know, if the egg is fertalized, taking your BCP or taking plan B is going to work the same way. plan B is just a more concentrated birth control pill. you can actually do the same thing by taking different combinations of "normal" BCP.

Not to debate, but I agree, you should read on how the pill works to see if that fits with your beliefs. Normally it stops ovulation (so an egg isn't released to be fertilized) but if it fails and doesn't stop it (like if you are late taking them or it just doesn't work) they can still prevent pregnancy in 2 ways. 1) increasing cervical mucus so that the sperm doesn't reach the egg 2) changing the walls of the uterus so that a fertalized egg can't implant.

I took plan b during a similar situation. I went off the pill and then had sex 2 days after i should have started my next pack. I freaked when I realized how stupid I was and got in to see the Dr.

Plan B did not bring on my period, just so you know. So it definately didn't flush anything out.
