View Full Version : 9 days past hemm surgery-need good cushion

Hi,
After reading some hemm post surgery comments, I can attest to the broken glass feeling of bms post surgery...felt like I had babies a few times/day. milk of magnesium at night has helped make bms more bearable few days post surg. Passage of time is most likely helping, too.

Now I need to work at my computer and sit some...and I need a good cushion to sit on for short periods of time. Pillows, donuts, anything softish in the house is not doing it. I was thinking of the tempurpedic soft cushion that when you put your hand down in it you can still see your handprint for a while. No advertising intended. That is just how I can explain it. Any ideas for post hemm people?????

PS If you are hedging on whether to have surgery, you are lucky....I had no choice. Mine were strangulated and there are so many stitches down there now we cannot count them all. So go for it now before they get worse if that is advice of your doc!!!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU DO NOT WAIT TO GO TO THE DOCTOR. I HAD THE PPH SURGERY DONE A WEEK AGO AND I DOING OK BUT IF I HAD WAITED NO TELLING IF AT A LATER DATE IF THE DOC COULD HAVE DONE THIS TYPE OF SURGERY OR IF I WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRADITIONAL KIND. YOU KNOW THEY GO IN AND CUT EVERYTHING WITH PAIN,PAIN AND PAIN.
IM SORRY YOURE UNCOMFORTABLE BUT JUST THINK THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS ARE GONE KNOW. HA.

Hi,
I had surgery around a month ago. I had one of those waffle cushions. They make waffle mattresses out of styrofoam for hospitals. This is just a smaller version. It was square and about the size of a regular chair. The nurse at the hospital gave it to me. Also, those styrofoam pillows they advertise on the TV helped me too.....so you are barking up the right tree. DON"T pay a hundred dollars for it though! I bought one and although that is NOT what I bought it for, it sure helped! That cushion helped me get at the computer when I was off from work and bored......LOL.
Good Luck! Oh and btw.......mine were thrombosed too...worst experience of my life!
