Well I was all worried about the upper GI test. My stomach has been bugging me for several weeks now mostly at night and usually in the morning it I don,t feel like eating or drinking anything and my test was at 7.45 in the morning. I heard the barium doesn,t really taste to good so I thought I might not be able to get myself to drink it without feeling sick. I only had to have about a cup of it and I had to drink it fairly quick and I tried not to breath so I really didn,t have to taste it either. From start to end of the exrays it was probably only 10-15 minutes and I didn,t feel nauseous afterwards either. The worst part was trying to get the appt. I had to call like 4 places, a lot of them owned by the same main company told me if they couldn,t get me in this month I would have to wait for 4 months, so I called an independant lab and the go me in, in4 days. When your stomach is giving you bad problems like anyone wants to suffer through 4 months of waiting. I,m up in Canada I also have an MRI coming up, not until the end of Jan, it will be 3 and a half months that I had to wait for that. (for dizziness) Sandra

Glad to hear the gi series went okay for you. Have you heard when they will have the results? Anytime I have to drink barium I have a real battle to keep it down. If you do happen to throw up they want you to drink more to replace it again!! As soon as I reach the point where I'm feeling sick from it I have to stop taking it right now!! Good thing most of the techs know me so they know I can't handle it and don't try to force more on me anymore. I'm in Canada so I totally understand waiting for tests. Hope yours gives you some answers. Let us know when you have them.
