View Full Version : Clear Plan Monitor Question?

Hi All,

I have been using the Clear Plan Monitor, and this month is strange. I am on CD 22 and of those days I have tested high for 16 consecutive days. It has not registered Peak and only on the first day of testing was it low. Has anyone had this experience? I had egg whites on day 8 and 9, made two appts. for our second IUI and the monitor didn't show peak, so I cancelled. I read in Taking Charge of your Fertility that stress and weight loss can cause a delay, I have lost 24 pounds in the last 3 months. I am also on Dostinex to reduce prolactin, which can cause a delay in ovulation. My breasts have been sore like they get after ovulation and premenstrual. I think maybe the monitor missed the hormone that shows peak but why is it showing high, when it usually goes to low after peak? My husband and I have an appt. to see an RE on Dec. 8. We only have been seeing my gyno. So anyone have any advice or experience with this?

Thank you for listening,
Michele

Michele - Hopefully your RE can sort it all out for you. Sounds like there's a hormonal issue to me ... hopefully something that's either a fluke or easily corrected. I had difficulty with clearplan when i tested with collected urine in a cup rather than fresh, flowing urine (sorry - i know, too much information). But i had the opposite problem - not enough high days when i used a cup. Good luck!

I had this problem w/my monitor as well but only around the times that I used Clomid. RE said this shouldn't have any effect on the outcome but I believe it did as I used it for 2 years and those were the only times I had this happen. Mine would go low for a day or immediately to High for a series of days and never Peak or sometimes peak for 1 day then go to low (normally would be high for a few days, peak for 2 and then low). Other times it immediatly went to low before I even tested ... seemed like a fluke in the monitor at times as well. There is an 800 number on the monitor that is always really helpful as well. Good luck!!!

Thank you Serendipity and Mmshell for your responses. Well, we didn't end up ttc last month because I was waiting to peak. On Tuesday we saw the re for the first time because I was only seeing my Obgyn. My husband and I just thought we would have more suppervision and maybe meds so we can continue IUI. But his concern was that we haven't gotton pregant in the last 9 years of unprotected sex. They did an ultrasound and saw that I ovulated this month. Then Re recommended to do a lap. My husband and I thought that would delay things even more so we are going straight to IVF. We will get ready for Feb. IVF. Wow, I am excited and nervous. We feel good about our decision and my SIL & BIL had twins as result of IVF. I like that everything is controlled so I don't have to guess and doubt everything. So I'm putting away the clearplan and sticks. Thanks for listening. I wish you two the best of luck.

Michele
