I am having severe liver pain again. I have Autoimmune Hep and I have been having bad pain again for the last 3 days. I am on pain meds, oxycodone & mscontin. It is just really bad. My doctor told me to call him if it got really bad this weekend. I don't want to go back into the hospital again. I'm just frustrated with this. All my liver funtions have been normal lately as well. Any advice? Thanks, TIna

I don't know much about the autoimmune hep, but I do know what it is like to hurt all the time. What do they do when you go to the hospital?It sounds like you have an understanding doc.I wish there was something I could do to help.Pain is a very hard thing to deal with. When I'm in hte hospital they give morphine through IV. It does help, but I hate being in htere. I did end up calling my doctor yesterday. He wanted me to go in, But asked for something at home If possible. He upped my Prednisone back up to 20mg to see if that helps. So far the pain is down a bit. I go see him today again. Thanks, Tina

Clyde, welcome to the board. I have an illness where my immune system is attacking my liver. I am on immune suppressive meds to keep my immune down so it doesn't attack to much. So far it's doing OK. I've been living with this for almost 1 year now. It can be hell. We are here for you.

Thanks Crisma. How are you doing these days? I'm still at home. My doctor gave me some new meds. So far they are working so so. The pain is down when I take them. I just had another cat scan done and will get the results this week. TIna

Hey Veronica, my health problems don't seem to be as bad as most on the board, but for someone like me who has never been sick, it sure takes a toll on me. I have a cyst on my liver, a fatty liver, and an enlarged liver, which I think(but am not sure) is from the fatty liver. I am always in pain, but some days are better than others.Glad to see you are still at home Tina! Good luck to you!
