How many calories per day, do you think I should have? I mean, I want to lose 49 pounds by May. So I was just wondering how many should I limit myself to? Right now it's at 1,000. But since I don't know much about health, that may not be right.. *advice needed*

Polaris - Your calorie level would be determined by a few things. At this point we have a few pieces to the puzzle missing. How old are you, what do you way? do you know your bodyfat%?, how active is your lifestyle? and what are you doing for a work out?
The time frame you have may be a little agressive - you need to lose 2lbs per week - that is a 7000 calorie deficit at the end of the week. With that said it could be done. - try to fill in some pieces and we'll go from there

mkay, i'm fourteen-- weigh 214 lbs. I do volleyball and at-home exercizes like crunches/pushups and stuff. I'm not sure what my body-fat percent is, however. oh. and i forgot. i'm 5'8
