View Full Version : Fevor blisters

CRAZE
11-26-2004, 05:47 AM
I have had a bad cough and high fevor for over a week now.
I have had cold sores before but this time my lips are covered solid with blisters. I have been using campho-phenique and get some relief. Does anyone have any sugestions on something better?
Also have a sore in my nose, ouch I say!!! Don't even want to go close to that. My whole top of my head is sore too. I have never experienced anything like this before. My fevor is running between 101 and 102. I can get it down to 100 if I take about 6 tylenol (thats got to hurt the ole liver).
I guess I just wanted to share my misery with someone.
{sick in Iowa} CRAZE

Hi craze..
I am sorry your feeling so terrible~
Have you been to the doc yet?
If your taking that much tylenol and your fever
isnt going down...that doesnt sound right!!!
It isnt cheap but they have something out called abreva {for cold sores}
it works great you can even put it on the one in your nose..be sure and wash your hands real well ..So you dont spread those lil critters...You could use a q-tip to apply it to your nose~
I hope you feel better soon~

Being sick can certainly trigger the Herpes simplex virus to slip out with a vengence.

Zovirax by prescription is a good topical medication, but in order for it to work well, it should be used immediately upon presentation.

But, Abreva seems to work well and it's otc, so definitely keep it on hand.

I strongly stress the suggestion to not touch it with your hands and apply any medication with q-tips.

If you've contaminated any products, throw them out and use caution when using towels that are family shared. As a matter of fact, make sure you have your own towels, glass, don't kiss or touch, drink from a straw and wash all utensils in very hot soapy water.

I really hope you get well quickly, and be prepared for the next time with products that can help speed healing. Check in with your doctor so that a prescription med can be given to you just in case.

Very best to you,
quincy
