My mom called up the doctor and asked to get me birth control pills. He refused unless he seen me. I really don't want to see my doctor, especially after my mom told him she caught me having sex (which is so not true, I never had sex before, my mom just wanted me on the pill)! So my mom called up her doctor and subscribed the pill for her. She isn't going to use them so she said she will give them for me to take.
I'm wondering.. is this healthy? Me taking my moms birth control pills? Or do I need to go in and get an exam or something?

Probably the best way to phrase it is there is a chance it could be unhealthy. Scroll down to see a post on high blood pressure. Perfectly healthy women who go on the pill can have weird and sometimes serious side effects. Which makes being monitored by a doctor very important. Not to mention if you do have sex in the future, a pelvic exam and std screening is a must. Even without having sex pelvic exams are a good idea on the pill, which can cause changes in the cervix. It can also interact with other meds, which makes it important for your doctor to know about.
Kind of sounds like you need to have a heart to heart with your mom. Best of luck!

How old are you that your mother insists that you be on B/c? I was 17 when I started taking it. And it was with ME confronting my mom about doing it. Now i got in every year for my yearly exam and get another prescription for my pills.
You should ask your mom to read the packet that comes with it. It tells you the side effects that are out there. And what increases them ect. Good luck!

Unless your mother is a doctor, she has absolutely no right to 'prescribe' that you take HER pills. The doctor was right in saying he wouldn't put you on them without seeing you and he has good medical reasons for insisting on this. Your mom does not get to override his medical judgement.
You need to go in and have an exam, and then the doc will prescribe a pill that is right for you.

Thanks for the advice people! Luckily my mom hasn't gotten them yet, I think I might just have to go to the doctors =/

If you're in the U.S., what your Mom did may be illegal.
You should be using birth control if you're having sex, but I wouldn't recommend the pill. It's associated with increased breast cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other ills I don't remember. Plus, they sometimes have to try different brands and potencies to see which one works best for you. I got sick to my stomach when I was on the pill, woke up every morning looking green, and the side effects didn't go away, as they sometimes do for others. Boy, was I sexy (not).
You might try a good, reputable brand of condom.
