View Full Version : Question about the Pill

I have a call in to my doctor, but being that it's a Saturday, I don't know if I'll get an answer. When I last visited her, I expressed my concern at getting my period on the weekends. She advised me that I should stop the 'real' pills three days early and start the placebo pills that day instead. I have done that (and am now expected to get my period on Tuesday), but my question is....am I still protected to have sex with my boyfriend without a condom?
Thanks,
Mary

Read your info pack. I think any time you cut your real pills short, you ARE at risk of pregnancy and should use backup. I'm surprised your doctor didn't just tell you to cut your placebos short? Unless it was this particular period you were worried about...

You should be fine, as long as you start your next pack on time (7 days from the end of the active pills). But, if your concerned, it certainly isn't going to hurt you to refrain from intercourse for 7 days.
