My little plan...
Well.... I have been reading a lot lately ....
and ... today I went out and bought what is necessary to see if I can coax my ovaries back into order..... I have read that some women do recover from this... and I am going to try very hard to be one of them...

I am on day 5 of no diet coke which is a record for me and I reallly would love some.

No red meat...though I want a burger BADLY I want a baby more

No wheat... .... hard to avoid

More sleep... I wanted more anyway no problem

More fruits and veggies... I can do that

Wheat grass.... (it tastes kind of yummy)

Rasberry tea.. ... It's pretty nice and many books recommend it

Vitamin e
Vitamin C
Flax
B complex

Accupuncture

Any other ideas ???

Thank you for all your kindness and support

Best of luck to you hon...... I really hope it works......

Day 6 of no diet coke.....(s s s s s t t t t t t i i i i l l l l l l a b b b b i i i i t t t s s s s s h h h h a a a k k k k y y y ) I drank gallons of it ... am coping... but just barely this is some sort of record.....

Giving up beef was easier.... i would have a bout a burger or two a week... but MAN I would love those burgers....

Wheat.... basicly no bread..... virtually impossible.... I mean how much rice can one eat in one lifetime.. but am still trying and so far have kept on the wagon

Bottom line... incorporating stuff into a diet is sooooo much easier than giving up stuff.....

Have been chomping on wheat grass... and flax and rasberry tea.... and folic acid... and vitamin e and b complex.. my house looks like a little pharmacy ... but I AM determened..... A few months ago I was told I had wonky liver function test results.... doc kept saying.... oh this happens ... sometimes..nothing you can really do .... I took a lot of vitamin e and they went back down again.... This sort of says to me that we do have a bit of control over our bodies.... The bottom line is... getting extra sleep... taking vitamins and eating better can't hurt.... and very probaly ... it may help... I hope everything goes well for you... sorry to be so long winded.... Tons of baby dust to you....

Ladies,
I'm starting the same thing. I am officially on day one of no coffee, no wheat, no milk (although I will eat some cheeses and sour creams). One thing I will do is eat some potatoes and I will eat spelt. I've quit wheat before and spelt works just fine in making cookies, bisquits, quick breads...but doesn't give you that bloated feel because there is virtually no gluten. (ok as long as you don't make yeast breads)

Are you guys quitting potatoes and corn as well? I think I'm going to eat small amounts of those.

April

Well,

I have eaten some corn, and a bit of potatoe. The bread thing is a bit more difficult. I have been eating LOTS less though. I am just hoping to make my cycles retun to normal...They've been wonky for years... Eight days ... NO diet coke.... This is unbelievable...

So how's the crusade against D.C. going today? I'm still holding on to no wheat. I may have a baked potato for lunch though...Yummy.

One thing I am eating is Ezekiel bread. It's a sprouted grain bread that is not like a regular wheat bread and is ok for folks with gluten issues. It's extremely good for you and I've been having a piece in the morning with my oatmeal. You get it in the frozen section in health food stores. Also I've seen Kroger stores carry it.

That sounds intereting....I love potatoes too. Unfortunately there isn't a grocer round here that is likely to have anything like that. I have been having lots of fruits and veggies though. AF started today .... so day three bloodwork is comming up. I realize that since I have been only doing this a couple of weeks it is unlikely that there will be much of a change. But I am curious. I really hope you are doing well and I send you tons of baby dust. Do you feel different ???? Notice any changes????

P.S. (still no diet coke... I must be serious about this)

Hi LadyT,

This morning, I'm suffering from an overwhelming desire to go eat about 6 donuts, but otherwise I'm doing actually better. I have more energy and am sleeping better. I haven't entirely quit caffeine - I drink green tea most days and today I'm having a medium sized iced tea with lemon, somewhat diluted.

I'm going to the accupuncturist today as well. Since I'll be ovulating (hopefully, if the clomid works) next week, I'll probably schedule another accupuncture next week as well.

I know I was on a pretty regular accupuncture schedule when I got pregnant last time (1.5 years ago - miscarriage) so I think I need to pick it up again. I hope a combo of my mucho better diet, my accupuncture, clomid and the fertility herbs I'm giving my husband will work a miracle. Despite my massive endometriosis (it's so gross, I even have some growing in my bellybutton that looks like a couple of bumps and they bleed sometimes...)

Confession: I have been eating some chocolate every day.

Also: Major kudos to you for quitting the diet coke! As a suggestion, if you have a craving for something fizzy - I like to mix 1/2 pinapple juice and 1/2 lime seltzer water. Very healthy. ;)

April

Thanks April,

God that endometriosis sounds so painful. Does it hurt much???? mmmmmmmm Six doughnuts sounds ...yummy.... Thanks so much for the drink idea. It sounds super nice. I am no longer haveing any withdrawl at all. In fact, I almost have an aversion to diet coke now. On those occasions when sodas are the only option I have decided the odd sprite won't be bad. I mean only on rare occasion. I read the book "Fertility Cycles and Nutrition" and it says basicly that these diets ought to be followed on a realisitic level. For example, don't turn down a bit of cake at your parent's anniversary party and taht sort of thing. Or one just becomes a total mess. Taking Coenzyme Q10 now and drinking lots of nice teas ....Also, both Julia I. and the other book I mentioned talked about the advantages of flax seed. So am taking that also.

Best wishes and a Santa sized bag of baby dust

P.S. embarassment is walking out of RE's office and he reminds you that your fly is down. I turned ten shades of red.

BWAHHHH! :D
I always do that kind of stuff. Last week before the holiday I was walking around work with my fly open and didn't realize it until I was on a lab tour with a bunch of folks. No one had the good graces to tell me - if they noticed.

Accupuncture felt great. He stuck 4 needles in my tummy around my bellybutton area to stimulate my ovaries. I hope it's doing it's work along with the clomid. Crossing fingers, toes, etc.

I also ordered my HCG shot today. The doc's making me take that because last time I tried Clomid I got a huge cyst and had to go on the pill for a month. ugh.

Have a great weekend and major babydust storm blowing your way!

Awww thanks,

Here's hoping this is your cycle and you get preggers for the holidays. I am hoping to find out on Mon. what my FSH is. I am hoping it's lower. I did a hometest for it this morning, and it appears rather hopeful. Who knows what RE will say though. I am not expecting to respond to what I am doing this quickly it's only been two weeks. Best wishes to you and a metric ton of baby dust

Thanks so much.
Today wasn't actually too good as I got the results of my boodwork and it turns out I have a partial deletion of the short arm of the X chomo. It's sort of like Turner's but people with turners are missing an entire X. (I am missing a tiny bit of the short portion of the X). In a nutshell I will need to use DE. There is no way round it. On the one hand it's kind of good to know why my AF stopped and I was never ovulating. On the other it's not so fun being officially geneticly abnormal. At any rate. I still intend to eat well and follow my little plan. I figure it can't hurt and diet coke is so bad for you anyway. I have to get a heart US as people with this condition sometimes have heart trouble that can make pregnancy tough. But if that is ok. Then I am going to pick doners and get the ball rolling. Hope you are doing well and I send you much baby dust
