I had thae same thing removed also about a year or so ago, I do know that it is tramatic on the body, & it needs some time to heal. Have you spoke to your Dr. about this?, if not,ask him what he/she thinks,if you are thinking liver, get blood work done so you have a better clue. Is the pain in the upper quad?, or middle? (behind the sternum or "breast-bone"?). I hope you feel better & that you are able to get the answers from your MD. I will hope for the best

I had my gall bladder removed in April 2003 and I still have the same pain I experienced before removal. I was diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Go back to your doctor, you may have this condition. If you want more information on it, I would be happy to let you know more about my experience. Good Luck!

I had the same thing happen to me I had my gallbladder taken out in March of 99 and was still sick, pain in side nausea they did an ct scan found out I had mass on liver went through MRI and biopsy 2 surgerys later still have the same problem I assume it will be something I have to live with unless I have a liver transplant. I have surgery to have the masses removed and then they come back I have to have ct scans every 6 months. So go back to your doctor and have blood work, and then see if you can have a ct scan of your abd. and pelvis.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I've had problems taking narcotic drugs since I was diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Morphine, Percocet and Hydrocodeine all cause right upper quadrant pain that radiates to my back. Morphine and Percocet also cause vomiting with the pain.
