I want to get some opinions about colonic cleansing (colon hydrotherapy) to see how others feel about it. I have read many articles online and in health magazines about the benefits including detoxing, more energy, loss of bloat, and regular BM movements. Colonics are very popular here in the west (California and Las Vegas)
Let me know what you think!

If you have had your colon examined using the "Prep from Hell" that cleans you out so the Doctor can examine your intestinal wall then I think you're clean enough.
After that, I think taking a water soluble fiber supplement daily with enough water and exercise with a good healthy diet --- will keep your intestines clean and regular gentle BMs. The detox is accomplished by not ever getting constipated so your stool doesn't just sit in your colon giving off antigens and toxins as it decays.
I lived in San Francisco for 3 years and used colonics for about 6 months and did not really see any benefit except I thought it was a little too costly for the benefits that you get. Here in the South it's not very well known or popular.
I am a firm believer that Good Health Begins in the Intestines. For your intestines to function properly you have to intake 20 to 30 grams of fiber daily. Most people only consume about half that--- all meat and dairy product have no fiber so you have to eat your fruits and veggies. And, I think the addition of a natrual water soluble fiber like psyllium is safe and a good healthy thing to do!!!
I have been saying this for over 3 years on this board--- it hasn't changed.

Huh? The prep from hell where you doctor cleans you out? What are you talking about?
The problem is that I do eat my fruits and veggies! I eat fruit two-three times a day, prunes, bread, carbs fiber, apples...I still don't go. I eat more of that than protein and dairy. And I drink water all day????
It is only $50 per session here. I am still considering it though. I have the problem of gaining weight and getting very bloated when I do not have a bm movement, which is restricting to my job.
Please comment if you read this!
Thanks!

The Prep that you have to do prior to a colon exam is --- you drink a gallon of a solultion in about an hour and a half and you have BMs until they are just plain liquid and your anus burns and sore!!!
With your diet I suggest you start taking a water soluble fiber supplement twice daily--- you must not be getting enough soluble fiber???
