I had my baby 2 mths ago and now i am exploring the birth control options.
I have always used condoms but now my doc gave me the Yasmin pills. I am a little apprehensive about using the pills becoz of the side affects.

I would apprecitate if you all could tell me your experience of using the pill. It would help me decide what should i do. My DH does not mind using the condom and has left it to me decide.

Thanks

Hi,
Congrats on your newborn. It is great that you have such an understanding husband. I have been on the pill for almost 2 years now. I had minor side effects in the begining like the firs 2 packs. I had some naseua and breast tenderness, this all went away within the second month of being on them. All women are different however and will experience different side effects. The best thing to do is to try the pill for 3 months and if the side effects are still there you can either stop the pill or chose another pill. Sometimes it takes trying a few pills before you can find the right one for you. Hope this helps you a little bit. Take Care!

I think that is a good idea to try for 3mths.
Ladies, more inputs will be appreciated.
Thanks

Obviously I can't tell you what is best for you. I'm on the pill for medical reasons right now. If I had a choice, I wouldn't choose to be on them. I'm on my 3rd different pill. I have a lot of trouble with nausea, migraines, and acne. But what I really worry about are the serious side effects like blood clots. If I was married, my concerns would be breakthrough ovulation and my moral problems with taking something that prevents implantation of a fertilized egg.
But those are all just my concerns. Many people are very happy with it. For me, I'm hoping someday I can use fertility awareness. I'd rather abstain a few days a month and have no condoms and no side effects.
I hope that helps somehow?? :) Good luck with your decision!

the pill comes with a list of side effects..so does tylenol! every drug does..every drug can have side effects on different people..you cant worry about them b/c hardly any ever occur too badly..you may have heavier periods occasionally or breakthrough bleeding..big deal compared to another kid when you arent ready! I'm ona great birth control now I'd recommend to anyone. Its newer..called the Nuvaring. It's not freaky at all even though you may thnk so being a beginner at the birth control thing. you only have to wait one week for it to be active.its a hollow rubber ring veyr small only about 2 inches in diatmer and bends easier. you insert it like a tampon.leave it there three weeks and take it out for one..you have your period then..i had cramps the first month..during the week before my period and since nothing! a few pimples during my period but thats to be expected..again..better than another baby.. but now i've also found my periods are very very light and short. a bonus! i love it. it's easy and convienient..i dont have to worry about a pill every day at the same time..all i have to remember is what day to take it outa nd put a new one back in.. they dont fall out.. they stay secure above your pelvic bone and are easy to reach..they wont get lost in you either.i dont know why women think something can get lost up there..theres no where for anything to go..and no..he cant feel it during sex either..trust me..ive asked my husband. no side effects down there or anything.its really gfreat in my opinion.
