Hi,
I've had GERD for eight years. Until recently It has been a mild heartburn for a few days a week. In July i started having problems with constrictive and a plegm like presence in my throat. In August I've had a upper endo and no problems except for a bit of mild egophisitis. I saw my GI doctor and he recently was puzzled on why it persist even when I'm on nexium 2 times a day 40 mg. He's going to send me to a doctor that puts a probe down my throat to see if acid levels persist to be high or if something else is causing it. Almost soon after seeing the doctor I notice my right side of my ribcage started to have the full, pressure feeling and i need to burp to relieve pressure constantly during the day and it would only relieve it for a couple minutes. At night it would not bother me while i'm asleep though. I don't know if hiatal hernia would be causing this probem or if it was something else. Does anyone have any advice or has this problem?

Mine is the left side of the rib cage. It has gotten worse lately. Mine is gas, because when I belch the pain stops. Mine might be a sore rib cage from picking up my 4 yr old son. And maybe the gas puts pressure on the rib cage. who knows?

Amen! God is so good! he is the one who told me about my sore rib too! I had been having the ache and I asked him. Right when I picked up my 4 yr old son, I wasnt even thinking about my rib at the time. My spirit was quickened and the thought came to me, this is why it hurts. I felt it was Him. So now I have to tell my son I can only hold him while we are seated. It is a transition for both of us.
