I ran across this website and have read many of your postings, none of which seems to mirror my symptoms or problems. I am hoping someone out there may be able to help me.

I am 27 and have extreme pain at the base of my spine (tailbone)and/or my rectom. I have been diagnosed with a rare nerve disorder and have gone to the ER and my GP for this unusual pain. Both doctors say it might be related to the nerve disorder but because my disorder is so rare and a lot is unknown, they can only guess. I am more inclined to think it is something simple to diagnose because it doesn't just come on its own. It usually starts after a BM, and typically a BM after I have had to hold it for a bit.

My BM's have always been consistant, though I probably go more often than some (about 2-3 times a day). I have had internal roids in the past, though nothing serious, just bleeding with no pain. I'm a bit worried because this pain is excrutiating. I have had spinal taps and brian surgery and would have those over again if I could get rid of this anal pain from coming back.

There is no blood in my stool, no itching or feeling of roids. Just a severe ache and sometimes stabbing pain at the inside top of my crack near my tailbone. It will help a little if I push on the area, but nothing but pain pills will stop it completely. Some of the bouts have lasted literally hours. My father has a history of polyps (cancerous) and he said that he had this pain as well. Obviously, that is a little concerning for me. Has anyone else had this? Is there something else it could be besides some mysterious ailment?

I apologize for the length of this post, but I wanted to give as much info as possible to help you help me. I would appreciate any response.

Thanks!

a possibility is cramping of the anus muscles due to anxiety, do the kegel pelvic floor muscle exercises, see on the net for this and let us know if this helps, it helped me and I had this pain on and off for 30 years
