My friend was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 4. She just had her surgery, but needless to say her mood is not very good. She wants to get in touch with someone who has survived ovarian cancer. Since to help her fight this horrible disease 1/2 of the battle is to have a positive attitude. She is young (36). If anybody is out there who has gone through the same thing and is willing to talk to her, we would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you have any suggestions we will take all the advice that we can get. [ removed ]

I'm not sure if this helps you at all, but I am currently under treatment for stage IV breast cancer and doing quite well. I don't have the same type of cancer as your friend, but I do have metastasis like her and it is pretty scary. Having a positive attitude and plenty of support is very important (I think so anyway).

I'm 27. I was first diagnosed at 25 -- this is my first recurrence and it surprised everyone including my doctors. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Hi there. I am recovering from Ovarian Cancer stage III border line IV. I am willing to talk to your friend and help her along. She can beat this!!!! A positive attitude can mean her life!!!! You can email me at[ please carefully review the posting rules - no emails ] I have completed my chemo as of September and my CA 125 has remained at "6". It was at 2,376 before my surgery. Unfortunately, you do not hear of too many people in the early stages of Ovarian cancer because it is very difficult to diagnose and detect. I am blessed we caught mine when we did - after 5 long and painful months of seeing every doctor under the sun. In and out of the emergency room. They could not find it.

Is your friend a Christian? Not trying to preach - but having a higher power through this was a big part of my survival.

I hope you encourage her to email me - happy to talk to her.

Hello C. Rupp,

What kind of symptoms did you have when you were diagnosed? Did you have any weird blood findings such as iron def anemia prior to your diagnosis?

Thanks!

You don't have to be Christian to believe in a higher power.
