View Full Version : sick and getting sicker- any advice?

HI all

I've been posting quite a bit for Mrs. Chazz and a few others, but have sort of been keeping my own issues to myself. I feel so bad for the others here, and feel helpless when we can't interact with them in any other way :(

Anyway, for those that read this, here's the situation, and suggestions or comments are welcome.

About a month ago, I coughed up blood, and went to the ER. They did a lung CT and found a small nodule. The nodule hadn't been there on a previous CT done two years before. The nodule is non-calcified.

They also found emphysemia and enlarged nodes of 'unknown itiology'.

What concerns me is that the nodule is cancer and the enlarged nodes are from cancer as well. Am I being totally paranoid? Doesn't the fact that the nodes are also swollen in my lungs suggest that cancer is the cause of the nodule?

But, it's not just that. I'm sick, and keep getting sicker. Several years ago, I had dysplasia and a cancerous polyp on my cervix. It was removed and I've been fine in that area for several years (to the best of my knowledge)

But, now new things are popping up. My intestines are a total wreck. I'm having a lot of blood with BM's, but was diagnosed two weeks ago with diverticulitis (mega infection, to my understanding) I was literally doubled over. They did an abdominal CT and found the infection. Didn't have the diverticulosis a few years previously when I had a colonoscopy, or when I had numberous abdominal CT's for other problems. So, is it possible that they are mistaken on the CT and that something else is going on?

3 years ago they removed a benign growth from under my diaphram. It was rather large, and of course, I was afraid it was cancer. It was 8CM. But, an abdominal CT at the time also found numerous cysts on my ovaries, and read "Can not rule out the possibility of metastasis"

So, here it is 3 years later. Breathing is becoming a serious issue. I'm sick all the time. Feeling awful and seems like I'm worse every day. Coughing a lot. Sometimes with blood, sometimes not. I do have asthma and chronic bronchitis, though.

Ok, enough paranoia for one day, I guess. I'm just very worried that I've got cancer that has spread all over.

Thanks

SHAYSER

Hey shadow you are always making everyone else feel better you have helped me in the past but even though i am a little younger then you i remember you telling me my nodule was nothing and it was'nt. listen your nodule is around the same size as mine, my lung specialist said something that small would never cause symptoms, but i was the same after i heard i had a nodule i had head aches , chest pains once i caughed so hard i spit blood it normal and i think a little of this is in our head i am sure you are fine, i know we all got a little scared reading chaz story which i feel horrible for him and his family but please don't read that story and think it is happening to you like i said that is very rare, a couple weeks ago he was posting in all different topics on here and now he is in a coma... i am sure you are fine, like you said to me ,, and if you get very scared demand the ctscan sooner then 3 months...

Shadowrose- I am so sorry that you have kept all of this in. Don't do that! We are all here for each other. While we are all going through different things, we can still help each other. I wish I knew more about this, but I don't! I will pray that all is ok.

No more keeping your feelings in!

Renee

HI

sorry to piggyback on this post but I am new to the board and I was taken up by your "WILL and Ill" reference, I am not familiar to it, though I can take a guess...if you don't mind would you fill me in on that? My mother was just recently been advised of a shadow on her chest x-rays and we are both feeling very uneasy about it.
