I've done a lot of research, and I'm pretty sure my condition is just hemorrhoids, but I wanted to see if my symptoms sounded familiar to anyone. No websites say if the bumps created by hemorrhoids are hard, soft, etc. A few months back, I discovered that one of the folds around my anus was swollen, but it isn't hard at all. In fact, it's very squishy, and you can move it around easily. It doesn't exactly hurt, but sometimes I feel a little bit of discomfort. From what I've read, hemorrhoids are itchy and painful, but this doesn't hurt and it seems to simply be a swollen up fold of skin, but it isn't just skin - there's some substance to it. The only pain I experience is when I'm wiping, but that's only if I have to wipe a lot. Can someone help me diagnose this??

It SOUNDS like an inflamed hemorrhoid vein, but I would have to see it to be sure. Why don't you just go to the GP? (S)he can tell you for sure what it is!

It sounds pretty much like a hemorrhoid since these are merely varicose veins of the rectum. Next time you see your doc ask them to check it out for you. In the meantime be sure to keep tabs on it by checking it with a mirror to be sure it doens't change or look irritated etc. Hemorrhoids don't always hurt or itch unless they are inflammed.

I have hemorrhoids all the time and somtimes I have them and don't know it because some don't itch or hurt at all. They are the ones that are squishy. When mine hurt they are the really hard ones.
