Hey Marti. I have been treating my fungal toe nail for about 7 weeks now. I am wondering how long it takes to notice results. I can't be 100% positive but I think I can see new nail popping up from the cuticle. In comparison to the yellowy browny fungus colored portion ,the new nail lookes like a band of cloudy white ( almost like an exagerated half moon ). What does a new nail growing in look like? Would the toenail grow straight across--because mine seemes to be growing in circular--if that makes any sense. I guess I just want to know at this stage what I can and should expect. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

The "cloudy White" you see at teh cuticle is the color of the lunula (matrix) where the new cells are born - this is perfectly normal. It can take a toenail at least a year to replace itself fully from the cuticle to the free edge. As the new nail plate emerges, it will force the lifted portion to move out over the free edge. The damaged portion will grow forward and be replaced with good healthy nail. 7 weeks is not enough time to see dramatic results.

As for the funny, circular look to the new nail: the cells that are touching the damaged portion can end up looking 'funny' in comparision to the good cells that are behind it. Just give it time - it will all look fine in the end.
