Well, Deda , I have gotten even more devastating news today . I went in for the appt with the Business Office , which was just an over view of our health ins. and what it will pay , etc. Then the Chemo Dr. explained the different meds with chemo and said I would have the 5FU and the the Levor something or other. The standard kind for colon cancer. It will be 5 days straight and then 3 weeks off. So I have to find rides for 5 days each month , in a row. Then I begged to see the Gastroentologist about my esophagus that is getting steadily worse and they worked me in. He did an emergency endoscopy and just get this, I have esophageal cancer !! So cancer in two places and it is not that one has metatisized ( sp ) it is strictly 2 different cancers. So now the chemo for the colon is on hold as what good is it when esophageal cancer is much worse and the outcome is much worse. Mine is so bad that they hold out little hope for any treatment to do anything for it. Now this is after 11 mos. of esophagus trouble and every PPI and test in the book. So , I am in shock I think from this catastophic news. I did want to let you know though . I have a CT scan tomorrow of my neck and we go from there. I'll keep you posted. We need a miracle. Lia

Oh Lia, I'm so sorry. I've checked all day to find a post from you, and this is sure not what I had hoped to hear. :( But please know that I am praying for you as soon as I sign off of here. I do beleive that miracles do happen in medicine sometimes, and that's what I'll be praying for. Please don't give up hope. I just saw Tammy Faye Baker on Larry King last night. She just finished up her chemo treatments, as she had a reoccurance of her colon cancer, after 8 years cancer free. She is now cancer free, again. And I think that her cancer had spread. (Not sure, but I believe that's what I read) A lot of ppl called the show, wanting to know about what chemo drugs they used on her, her diet, etc. She looked so good. (well, except for the eye make-up). You might want to do a search and go to her website. It sounded very encouraging.
Again Lia, please know that I am praying for you, and will encourage every day. Don't let your spirit falter... Be of strong spirit. I think you are a strong woman anyway, considering all that you have been through already. :nono: This will just be a greater challenge.
God bless you
I'll be waiting to hear from you..
Deda
