View Full Version : I need some help with my hair... any advice?

Well, my hair is about right below my arm pits and it's naturally wavy. My problem is that when i take a shower and my hair gets wet, when it dries (I usually just let it dry naturally or go to sleep with it wet as blow dryers just don't make my hair look good, which is actually part of my question:)) it dries in little ringlets in some parts of my hair, but overall just looks really nappy and wavy and frizzy and it's just not pretty at all. So, I just end up straightening it with my ceramic flat iron. I just want to know if you guys have any tips as to what I could do to style my hair so that I can still wear it with my natural waves without it looking really big and frizzy which always happens when I dry it with my blow dryer (I don't try and style it or anything, but just dry it while running my fingers to it) Any products I could use or styling tips? Thanks a lot!

I have the same problem, though my hair is a bit longer. What helps is if you don't brush it when you get out of the shower (instead, brush it before you shower) and crunch it with your fingers. Then let it dry naturally. I found that not brushing helps, because it stops a lot of frizzing. However, your hair (if it's a lot like mine) will still look fuzzy until it dries all the way.

Another option would be to use TIGI's curls rock products. If you use them, you can blow dry your hair and still have curly/wavy hair that doesn't frizz.

Where can I buy those products? How much do they cost? Thanks for the advice!

My hair is the same...wavy and then frizzy when I don't do anything to it.
I found that Neutrogena's new silk leave in conditioner works great. It's part of their new Triple Moisture line. I put it on after my shower and then just finger comb it through my hair (shouldn't brush wavy hair) and it works awesomely. Trust me it glides right through and really defines and conditions your waves. I use it on my 8 year old nieces hair, which is curlier than mine and it works great on her's too.
You can by it at any drugstore that sells neutrogena, and it's like 5 or 6 bucks I think.

after it's dry, use large/jumbo hot rollers...that will smooth and take out the frizz but you'll still have large curls to style...
good luck

I had the same problem with my hair. Then I read somewhere here from one of the members that NoodleHead ( you can buy it at Sallys- and very inexpensive) works. I tried it and I am hooked. It is amazing how good my hair looks now. It is curly wavy all over and has body and style now. I told my hair dresser about it and she used it now on other clients. I also get compliments now.
I put it in my hair when it is wet and crunch my hair while it dries. Also I use it the next day if I need to to refresh my hair and then I only slightly dampen my hair before putting more in. On my hands it feels kind of greasy but it does not dry in your hair that way. You can not even feel it.
The neutrogena product it good too but this product actually helps with the waves and curls.
