Has anyone ever tried St. Johns Wort for their anxiety? Recently I have been having anxiety attacks with the usual symptoms of prolonged butterflies in the stomach, inability think sometimes, constant worrying, and a slight depression also.
I took St. Johns Wort and it actually seemed to help for my mild conditions. Has anyone else tried this?

I used st. johns wart and it worked for my depression. I had to quit taking it because I can't stand the "floating" feeling I had with it. It can work for you, but it can interact with other medications. It lowers the effectivness of birth control pills.*if your on them or a girl*:)
I'd ask your doctor about taking it, and if he recommends it rock on! I wish you good luck!

Kat, thanks for your reply.
I do feel a slight floaty feeling, but that's nothing compared to the anxiety and depression I felt previous to it. I'd rather feel floaty than depressed. Also, I'm not really sure if this is an affect from the St. John Wort or a placebo effect, but I really have to urge to have intellectually stimulating conversations with people. I feel as if I can focus my words and share my thoughts more clearly than before.
Currently, I am not taking any other medications. I really would rather not take any prescription drugs, because I don't feel that they are that big of a deal or I've gotten so used to anxiety that it almost feels normal to me (does anyone feel that way too?).
Also, can drug use, like XTC, cause anxiety disorders? I used to be an abuser 4-5 years ago, and had a very bad experience with too much. Perhaps this may be the cause of my slight daily anxiety? Please give me your insight on this if you have any.

look up the net for studies on SJW for anxiety, it would need to be taken daily for some months
