Is anyone else afraid of going crazy?
My anxiety started with a fear of death but after getting CBT I have been getinnig a lot better, but now I have a fear of going crazy. I want to have a family and my husband is ready but I am so scared to get that post-pardom depression and go crazy and hurt anyone. I know that I could not ever do something like that but just the thoughts about ti scares me. I fear that I am just goin to go nuts and lose my mind. My therapist sayst the fact that I worry about going crazy is a good sign that I am not. She said that being crazy is a state of mind in wich you don't actually know or think anything is wrong with you.

anxiety disorders dont lead to crazyness, Ive known many severe anxiety sufferers over many years and none have gone crazy
I agree with your therapist, your worries may be caused by OCD which comes from anxiety

My Doctor told me the very same thing.
He said that people who truly are insane don't believe that there's anything wrong with them.
He said the fact that I thought I was losing it, told him that I wasn't.

Hahahha, sounds like catch-22 if anyone's read it ;)

Anyway, that was my anxiety fear. Because I always had depersonalization/derealization it really felt like I was going insane. I thought I was going schizophrenic. People have their triggers, some people think they are dying, some think they're having a heart attack, we think we're going crazy. As soon as I went on an antidepressant or took some ativan, this feeling would subside. Now I don't feel it at all anymore, so yes, it's a symptom of your anxiety. After a lot of research I've discovered that the depersonalization/derealization and fear of going crazy is much more a panic disorder symptom than a general anxiety symptom so although most of the same people visit both boards, you might have better luck on the "Panic Disorder" board.
