My dd has been diagnosed with chronic mastoiditis as well. She turned 2 on November 15th, 2004. She been on several antibiotics since February of this year, including 3 weeks of IV antibiotics. (Her Pediatrician predicted about 35 antibiotics within the past 52 weeks.) She has had 6 sets of tubes, well actually, right now she has 2 sets of tubes…2 in each eardrum. She has had an adenoidectomy and ear tissue and nasal tissue biopsies done. She's scheduled for a mastoidectomy on one ear this coming Monday, Dec. 13th. 8-12 weeks later, they'll do the other ear. Each time, she's going to be admitted into the hospital.

I am very scared about her having this surgery done. I don't know what to expect other than what the doctors have told us. I just wish there was SOMEONE that has been through this or has had a kiddo go through this.

Has anybody experienced this surgery or had a child who has? I HAVE TONS OF QUESTIONS!

Any advice/information would be great!
