Yes, on occasion I have had "throat flutters" and "heart flutters." It is related to stress and anxiety which is related to GERD. Do you suffer from anxiety or have alot of stress?

I have the fluttering as well. I have had GERD for a long time. Even with the medication, I will feel the fluttering if my stress level is up. I agree that it is very related to stress. Are you on any medication? I think we all worry so much about our many health issues that come along with reflux, that we throw ourselves into panic attacks.
I hope that this helps so that you dont feel like you are suffering alone. Try to remember when the fluttering starts, to take deep breaths and relax. Also, I have noticed they are worse if you are not standing straight.

You hit the nail on the head with that. If you are slouched in a chair it is worse, I had breathing problems for a couple years and always in a state of anxiety til I found out it was reflux, gee the thing bothers everything airways, lungs stomach throat voice box etc. IT's not small matter that is for sure. I have anxiety disorder as well and I never had heartburn til I was in my 40's and hubby had his first heart attack and by the time he had his 3rd heart attack I was a nut case and heartburn took over, it's been over 5 yrs since he had his last heart attack and now I'm suffereing from reflux complications.

Another thing to consider is electrolyte imbalences. When my reflux is bad I vomit all the time, which can throw my electrolytes out and cause that feeling.
