I just wanted to know what the best work out machine is to work the muscles used to do a pushup. I know obiously doing pushups is probubly the best way to go, but I'm also doing a weight lifting circuit where I want to put more of an emphisis on the muscles that are used in pushups. Or does anyone just know what muscles are used in doing a pushup?

Also, I've heard a lot about protien drinks and creatine and stuff like that. I never really belived in taking a drink or anything to help you get stronger but I've heard that stuff like that does help a lot. Is there any specfic kinds of protien drinks, creatine or anything like that that you guys would recomend to me?

Thank you.

Chest Press machine or chest press dumbells are even better to work chest.

Creatine costs more than its worth for the average weight trainer

Protein shakes are a great idea. Use it as part of an overall diet to supply great quality protein. Use a whey isolate.

go to argus. you can get these special handle thingys that simulate doing push ups on your fists. this action puts less emphasise on your forearms and wrists. instead it works your shoulders and triceps more if you do narrow push ups and your chest more if you do wider push ups. they only cost about a fiver. best fiver i ever spent!

Any exercise that targets the chest or triceps as these are primarily used for pushups. Core strength is also helpful in pushups to keep your body straight, so som ab, back and glute work will make them easier to do.

Ratboys "handle thingys" can help doing pushups because your hand is gripping them instead of being spread out on the floor.
