Hey I have some ?s about how to get rid of stomach fat. I'm 5'1, I used to be 130 lbs but I've gotten down to 115lbs by cardio and eating better. I do about 50min. 6 days per week and sometimes lift weights too. I still really would like to be 100lbs, I'm hoping I can be like 112-110 by christmas day. anyways there's alot of fat on my abs and I'm wondering is cardio enough to get rid of it? Or should I be doing crunches/ab workouts. I was thinking that I could just do cardio to successfully lose all the weight and then start toning up. Will that work? Or should I do cardio and crunches at the same time? I know that ab fat is notoriously hard to get rid of and now I'm worried that cardio is not enough to help me. So please tell me if I'm doing this all wrong and what else should I be doing. I'd apprecate any advice! thanks!

if you manage to lose 15lbs keep doing wat your doing, don't worry. Be patient. The stomach is the LAST place you'll lose weight.

very true...ive been working out twice a day (weights and cardio routines), 6-7 days a week for 2 or 3 months now, and I've noticed a big change in my physique...everthing looks great except my abs still have a bit of fat on them that id like to burn. when i flex them slightly, you can see the "8 pack", and its starting to be visible even without flexing, but by far its the last to lose the fat. every other part of my body is lean as possible. course, i always have 1 or 2 bowls of cereal before bed, which is slowing down my cause....but as long as im slowly getting leaner, thats all that matters, im almost there.

Could you post your workout routine for the 6-7 days? Sounds interesting.

Yeah I've become pretty addicted to it. I have about an hour at lunch, which doesnt give me much time, so by the time I get there, get changed, I have about 25 minutes to workout before I have to shower, change, grab a sandwich and head back to work. I do this daily. Provides a nice break from work...Sometimes I'll shoot hoops for a few if I've got the time. After work I go straight to the gym on my way home (stopping at home would distract me and cause me not to go sometimes). That's my cardio time. I generally do 45 to 60 minutes of hard cardio, basically at the end my shirt is 100% soaked and even my shorts have been getting wet as I've been working even harder later, pushing myself. I love the night workout because there's plenty of time, so its more relaxing, sometimes I'll hit the hot tub or steam room, and definitly shoot hoops, usually both before and after my workout.

Shellie4801, I like the fact that you are mixing some weight training into your workout, that's a definite plus. You are also definitely doing enough cardio and everything seems to be working. However, there is a very common misconception that working out your abs will help to get rid of the belly fat...it's just a myth, my friend. That's based on an old theory called "spot reducing" and it just doesn't work. True, your abs will be toned and strengthened by working them out, however, it won't do much to get rid of the fat. Seems to me that your routine is plently enough unless you wanna add more weight training as it helps burn calories around the clock, not just when you are working out like cardio does.
