Today is my first day off of cigarettes in 5 years. I have finally worked up the courage to quit for good. I was just wondering if it normal to feel almost dizzy during the first few days. I am having a hard time concentrating and I feel tired. If this is normal do you have any ways to combat these withdrawl symptoms?

Not sure about being dizzy but do not worry for being tired. nicotine is a stimulant. My brain has not been working as well for the last 4 weeks but do I care? NO. just get through the first three days and the need will subside dramatically

Hi Ralphy...

I think your symptoms will go away after the nicotene clears out of your system. They say that takes around 72 hours, so be patient. :) Yes, there is away to combat symptoms, with nicotene replacement therpy, ie, patches, gums, inhalors, etc. It's up to you if you want to go that route.

And congratulations on quitting too! Hope to see you on the board again..
