I am 29 years old i have been having bleeding problems for about 4 years when i worked at a factory it's getting worse as the time goes , i have hemroids and my doctor just gives me stool softners but when i go to the bathroom i bleed BAD it's a stream of blood, and i bleed alot during the day if i am standing up even just a little bit. i am embarrised to keep going back to the doctor and have him look at my butt, so i just deal with it, it's just so agervaiting not even being able to go to the store with out making 20 trips to the bathroom befor i go home, Please help me out on what this could be, and what kind of treatment could i do to help the bleeding at home. i dont know if this has anything do do with this or not but i have a hard time "pooping" untill my time of the month and then it's no problem, i hope someone can help me out with this problem, Thank you, Cindy

Since you are prone to constipation you need to start using some metamucil a couple times every day to help get your bowels back on tract. Since you are having such severe bleeding with your stools you should see a gastroenterologist or an internal medicine doc and get this thoroughly checked out. Also since your doc is so lax in not checking out this problem I would consider finding a new doc. Any doc that lets severe rectal bleeding with BM's go one like this without a throrough investigation is not a doc I would want to trust my life with.

Cindy, It sounds like what I went through from 94 to 2001. I lost so much blood I ended up in ER needing to have 7 units of blood given to me, ending up with surgery with them removing a foot of my colon. It really needs to be checked out. Generally hemorrhoids won't be bleeding as much as you are bleeding. Please for your sake have a colon test and see if it is coming from there, this could save your life.
