Hi,

I am in my late 20's (male) and have probably had problems with my bowel for nearly 10 years.

I need to have a bowel movement about 6-7 times a day, most of these in the morning.

When I need to go I really have to go. I am unable to hold it in for any length of time and this causes me to be very embarrassed and stressed (and constantly making sure that a bathroom is nearby).

I am really worried about my inability to control my bowel but have been to embarrassed to see a doctor about it.

I have recently started talking a fibre supplement and this seems to have reduced my movements to about 2 a day which is fantastic but those two are sometimes scarily urgent.

Is there anything I can do for part of the problem?

Please help, I feel like a bloody infant failing potty training!

You need to see the doc and get his help with this. Since the metamucil is working some you may want to try some bowel retraining. Sit on the toilet for 5 minutes every day right after you finish your breakfast to try to get your bowels regulated. Also you may want to try increasing the metamucil to 3 times a day and see if that helps at all.
