About 2 weeks ago I started drinking 8 oz. of prune juice every day in an effort to help with constipation. I also take three doses of Metamucil per day.
Two days ago I started having a burning sensation during urination. It isn't a bladder infection -- at least not yet. My diet is the same -- the only change is the prune juice.
Does anyone know if Prune juice is acidic enough to cause this? I hope not as it has greatly helped me and I would like to keep taking it. I really don't want to add cranberry juice to my diet as well, as it you have to drink so much. I drink eight 8 oz. glasses of water a day also.
Thanks for any feedback.

If you are having burning with urination that is most likely a bladder infection so see the doc and get this checked out before it turns into a kidney infection or spreads to your bloodstream. The prune or any other juice is not causing the burning. Burning with urination is one of the primary and first signs of a UTI.

Prunes as well as prune juice is acidic and does not oxidize or change during digestion. The only other juice that does not oxidize is cranberry juice. But, I agree with migables --- the burning is probably causes by a urinary tract infection.
