I just made my first appt. for a colonic. I've been doing a lot of research on the web about it and it seems like it's a painless and very beneficial procedure. I've always been a very constipated person(1 BM about every 3 days) and I'm afraid of all the toxins and diseases that they say and impacted colon can cause. I'm not really scared about having it done, I just really hope it works! If anyone has any good experiences with it that will help me feel better, please share!! Thanks!

Going for a colonic is a personal choice but you are also going to have to take care of your constipation too. You mention only going once every 3 days. Please note that this is not necissarily constipation if your stools are soft when you pass them. Constiptaion refers to hard dry stools that are difficult to pass and not to how often you have them. If you do have constipation you need to get this taken care of an under control by increasing your water intake, using metamucil 2-3 times a day and eating plenty of fresh fruit and veggies as well as drinking prune juice or eating prunes. A colonic will not fix your constipation as that is something you need to do. You also need to figure out what is causing your constipation and try to eliminate the cause of it.

I do know that's it's not a solution but I'm so uncomfortable right now that I just want relief! Then I will work on staying that way. I drink a lot of coffee and tea and I know that's bad. I've tried to increase my water intake lately and I've also been eating some fruits. My stools are definitely not soft. Having a bm is like having a baby for me

I have had several colonics myself and I think that every so often, they are a good idea, however, I also agree with mlgable that you do actually need to work on eliminating your constipation, by possibly cutting out the coffee, increasing your fiber intake, ensuring that you drink plenty of water and also eating more fruit and veg.

I used to get a lot of stomach problems myself. I had food intolerance problems, diarrhea and a lot of pain and I started having colonics and it really did help. I also changed my diet, but even with this, I was still having colonics regularly, until I got fed up and decided to treat the underlying cause. I did this using natural methods and now I just go and have a colonic as and when I feel I need to and not because I have stomach pains or an upset stomach generally.

By all means, do go and have a colonic. It should make you feel good and give you more energy generally, as it is removing all those backed up toxins, but you will have to deal with the underlying cause after that.

Good luck
