My acupuncturist told me to try sleeping with one pillow last night. She is concerned about the amount of blood getting to my head. Which I thought a little strange but then thought she does have a point especially after the elpey when I was up right for a while. My brain was probably wanting some blood. Anyway, I tried 1 pillow and I had the craziest night sleep. i woke up thinking I was inside my brain and had all these visuals oh my god weird, weird, weird. In my dreams I had anxiety, no surprise
Anyone else notice a difference with the pillow thing? I know we've written about dreams before... but the strange feeling about your brain, anyone else had that? Sometimes I find myself aware of my own brain processing things like turning my head in traffic, weird.

jadeearth...I know what you mean about using 1 pillow. I've tried using only one in the past and it was the weirdest nights sleep I ever had. I'll never do that again. I can only use two pillows and my head must be really elevated or I'll really be messed up in the morning.

Hi Jade....I used two pillows for a long time but kept forcing myself back to one until it felt ok again. In the end I succeeded but it took a lot of perseverence as I felt really uncomfortable at first. S

Hi Jade, dont like 1 pillow myself, 2 much better. Do you think that the epley has helped at all? Could you explain the brain thing a bit more, am not quite getting that part. Thanxs.

Hi, Yes, the brain thing... I can tell when my brian is overwhelemed, really feeling the process of it trying to understand or struggle. For instance I am in traffic and look over my shoulder and then back in the mirror and am aware that this is not a fluid automatic process that I am slower with it. Make sense? I can feel that in bed in the morning as well just the struggle of the mind.
Epley, I think has helped. Was really dizzy 3rd day ( I actually felt the classic BPPV symptoms that I had not felt before like the turning of the head) and did modified at home and got acupuncture where she took the electric machine to the points on my ear right after the treatment I was less dizzy. Neurotologist still said to come in and saw him for 5 min today, he did 1 move and then said he didn't see my eyes moving so to keep waiting. I think I will keep doing the modified.
I asked him if the crystals cause permanent damage and he said they really don't know. But everytime they move they cause a lot of different sensations for people and the brain has trouble adjusting. Also don't know how long recoevery time is.
I feel a little better overall. Still hard and confused in head and emotions especially at night. Seeing about SSRI to keep me more steady on friday.
Thanks for your input :)

Hi Jade,
I can only sleep with one pillow or I get real bad neckache - its strange what you and someone else said about this because I always have the most weird vivid dreams every night and a real broken nights sleep and real strange in the morning for a while.

Well, I'm the odd one out yet again because i can't sleep with pillows at all. There's two there, but I always end up lying in front of them so my head's just on the mattress. Can't get comfy with pillows at all.
Brina - I get that memory thing sometimes! I expect to be going home to my old flat, even though I've lived in a different house, in a different city, for nearly 6 years! Weird, isn't it?

I think I have you all beat in the pillow department:
I sleep with my head elevated on a body pillow, and that is covered with two crocheted blankets, because the blankets are softer and mold easier than actual pillows. This is about the equivalent of two pillows under my head. Then ONTOP of my I put another body pillow, and tuck one end under my chin so my head doesn't roll. I sleep quite comfortably actually, but it took me a while to "perfect" my ideal sleeping position. If my head rolls to the side, then I will wake up (usually) spinny dizzy. However, there have been times when I wake up with my head to one side, and I am fine. And I used to be a completely flat (NO pillow) sleeper. Oh, how I miss that!
As for the forgetfulness, I have that too. At work I refer to it as being "addle brained". If I forget something, or stop in mid-sentence, I don't make excuses, I just tell whomever I am speaking with that it comes with the territory with my symptoms. I was out to dinner last weekend with some friends, and forgot my one girlfriend's name - I ended up calling her "whatshername". Everyone I was out with knows about my symptoms, so it was no big deal, although I was kidded about it for the rest of the evening.
I'm not used to this "side-effect" of my head symptoms because I'm smart as a whip, very sharp and on the ball, and quick-witted. But get my on a good symptomatic day, and I am sub-par.
