hi have been suffering bad insomnia.........along with head aches...ear pressure/ache...and visual symptoms like slight double vision in left eye i also have a general malaise of late.
When i try and sleep i drift off and start semi-dreaming but its like i becomeaware this is happening and jerk myself awake. Sometimes i get an electric shock type tremor in either hand...or hear a buzz in my head. And the closer i get to sleep the more my head feels tight and i get dizzy. Last nght i got to sleep at 2am and awoke at 4...with my head tremoring.
people are saying its stress...but unfortunately i am an ex ecstasy user (not used for 11 months) so im worried i may have damaged my serotonin system which is related to sleep and other.
does anybody else get similar symptoms?
any other x ecstasy users?
any other brain conditions/diseases which can cause insomnia/headaches/fatigue/feeling of being spaced out.
im thinking of trying 5-HTP to increase serotonin levels...does this sound like a good idea?
thanks a lot guys

How long has this been going on?
There are a million and one different diseases/disorders that could be causing your symptoms - ranging from harmless to fatal. You should really check things out with a doc. And be honest about your past drug use, you won't get the best quality care unless the doc has all the relevant info.
Good luck.

I am an X exctasy user and have similar problems. I don't have pains or tightness in my head, but when I start to fall asleep my mind almost seems to realize that i am about to have a dream and my mind actually wakes me up... This sometimes happens if I am having a bad dream, while in dream it's like I become aware that I can stop things by just opening my eyes. So in dream i seam to think real hard about its only a dream its only a dream and I wake up. Ambien helped as far as that goes, but for the weird sensations you get, I don't know, I would definitly ask a Dr. GOOOD LUCK!
EDIT:My only experience with 5-HTP was when I would take it before I rolled. (took x, not sure of all your guys's is lingo) Seemed to make me roll harder, could have been all mental who knows, but I don't think it would hurt to try. Its OTC so it can't be real dangerous, REMEMBER THOUGH, I AM LIKE YOU, WITHOUT A MEDICAL DEGREE, SOOO PLEASE DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU NEVER SLEEP AGAIN AFTER TRYING IT!!!

erm going on a few months...just recently got a lot worse though.......im seeing a doc at moment he knows my full history but unfortunatley nhs dont know a lot about e. He's given me a non addictive anti depressant to take before bed time in a mild dose...and im going back in 10 days. Its pretty wierd all in all. It does feel like my brain is running out of control due to chemical imbalance!!

Thats a start, thats really all you gotta do, you MUST be honest though as to your history or the Dr. might give you treatment for something you don't need. As long as your 18 a Dr. can't tell your parents if your doing anything "wrong". Even then some Dr.'s will respect your privacy.
