This morning I noticed that one of my pupils was a lot bigger than the other one and I went to the office nurse and she sent me to the ER, they sent me home saying "it could be eye trauma" but without any tests or anything. I have a history of sinus tach. and yesterday I felt numbness in my face and like I was going to pass out, I've also had a weird feeling of pressure in my head for the past week. Is this a migraine or could it be a stroke?? The dr's didn't do one thing to do any further testing, should I have a 2nd opinion? Please help!!!

I would see a neurologist to try and find out the cause.Your eyes don't do what yours did for no apparent reason.I have what is called Horners syndrome and one of the symptoms is unequal pupils.but this was caused by damage to my sympathetic nervous syndrome due to the NS who was doing my surgery accidently damageing the SNS.any interupption in the facial nerves or the sns chain can cause horners.you need to find out your particular cause.Good luck and please keep me posted,K? Thanks Marcia!!! I went to the eye dr. and they said my eyes look fine, but my color vision has decreased slightly and bright lights are duller to me. So they just said they'll see me back in a month. But I've been having a lot of pressure in my head and pain and dizziness plus my pupil started to get larger again over the weekend then went back down. So I don't know, I should probably get it checked out, but the 2 dr's that I went to didn't seem to be concerned so I don't know what to do.
I also have a pinched nerve in my neck so I don't know if that could cause it as well.....?

I have eneven pupils too.I noticed it after I had my son 3 years ago.I went to eye doc and my reguler doc and they said I was fine.My reguler doc did a mri of my head to look at the veins and that was normal. The eye doc checked them in different lighting and they changed to the same size so he was not to concerned but I still worry about it.My left pupil is smaller than my right and I have sinus problems to.Do you think they did all the necsasarry teat to rule out any thing serious?Sorry,That I cant be more help as I am worried about this too.Thanks.

Thank you so much for your response!!! My right pupil went up first, and then my left one actually just when up last week. It only stays that way for a few hours but I get a weird feeling in my eye like my contact keeps falling out and a small tingling sensation in my face, but only for a few minutes. Both eye dr's I went to said my eyes were fine, so I don't know what is going to happen next. We'll see. Thanks again!!!

jm, Have you ever seen a neurologist or even better, a neurosugeon for a much more in depth evaluation? Also do they have any explanation for the sinus tach?It really does sound to me that you may possibly have some sort of a sympathetic nervous system disruption somewhere along the upper chain, most likely at the T 1 C 7 area.any SNS disruption(causes are usually a lesion,or some sort of an injury, caused by surgical intervention(my cause),or something wrong in the c or T spine area that is somehow touching/compressing?That sympathetic ganglia that runs down along the outside of the vertabral column. If you were to look up info on just what the SNS governs inside the body, it runs to many many different areas and has effects on many body systems.i am mentioning this as if there has been no good explanation for your tachycardia, the SNS could be a source of it as the SNS also has an effect on heart rate and rhythm, and as I mentioned before, the eyes(horners syndrome).i really think you should first obtain an MRI and then see a good neurosurgeon(NSs as opposed to neurologists seem to have a much more in depth understanding of the more intricate spinal problems than most neurologists.i say MOST not all.But I would prefer a good NS myself)to see what his/her thoughts are.You may have any number of possible causes of SNS damage.Hopefully if this is the true cause of the problem something indicative will show up on an MRI.Just a suggestion. This is what I would do if it were me.I have had just way to much experience in dealing with these flippin spinal cord issues for wayyy too long now, lol.good luck and PLEASE keep me updated,K??marcia

Thats so funny that you say that b/c I had an MRI done of my neck and I have a bulging disc at C6-7, but no one thinks its a big deal at all and that its not causing any of my symptoms. Actually my chiropractor is the only one that believes its the problem. I just a neurologist last week and he has no explanation for the pupils, but he did put me on more meds for a bundle branch block I had a year ago, b/c no one else did anything. Anyway I had an MRI contrast done last week also and they found a venous angioma in the left part of my brain, but again said that is no big deal. So they are finding things but none of it is causing my sypmtoms apparently!! Don't you love that?? Anyways I am getting an MRA done to better look at the veins in my brain and then he said they might send me to an NS, so we'll see.
