View Full Version : tension or migraine

I have what I believe to be migraines. I was at a Neurologists office a year or so ago for a nerve problem in my foot. He asked if I ever had headaches. I do, but he didn't seem to think so. Maybe someone here can give me a better idea. He just told me it was stress and not to worry. I'm not really worried about them, but they just really hurt. I usually get them in the temple region and behind an eye and forehead. They are generally one sided. When I get a really bad one, it can last for about 3 days and light and noise really bother me. I feel dizzy, especially when I stand up and try to move around. Almost like I'm going to pass out. I usually get nausea and vomiting with the really bad ones. Other times, my temple and eye just hurt and I feel a little dizzy, but no getting sick to my stomach. I find that it feels like the veins in my temple are pulsating and almost hard to the touch. I'm taking Neurontin (anti-seizure med used to treat nerve pain) for my foot, but it also seems to have lessened my headaches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm starting to feel like one is coming on tonight.

Sounds like a migraine to me! Try keeping a diary of what may be triggering them. Mine are triggered by chocolate and stress. Which is totally unfair because I need the chocolate to alleviate stress. LOL
