Hi
Definetly not the only one, get onto some help quickly, theres great books, meditation tapes, also see your Dr. I call it the most insufferable thing ever!!, and its a battle, but one of the best things is to remember that you are putting these thoughts in your head, so changing to a positve thought approach really helps, its hard at first, then you will find yourself with practice, stopping the worrying by changing your thought patterns, and live in the moment. wishing you all the best, try to think happy and enjoy your life. keep in touch

I hope you can count on your family and tell them about your anxiety. This will be a help. My husband knows when I have a panic attack that he needs to either shut-up...or talk about something of no importance and do not ask questions!
I go someplace comfortable and sit down and watch the movie OVERBOARD. I have watched that movie 100 times and do not need to concentrate. A walk is good as well. My neighbor knows to talk about scrapbooking on and on....
Eventually, with help, you will be able to tell yourself, "this is nothing, it's just a reaction my body has and it is not harmfull". Until then, use some tricks and if you have problems breathing...sounds funny, use a paper bag.
If you can, right down any issues (triggers) that may have caused these episodes.
You can beat it. You'll be fine. You did the best thing by reaching out.

Hi, Thanks for the tips and stuff. But i've got a worry at the moment. I keep going really spaced out and it seems that its either at night when our living room lights come on wich are quite bright, or its when im on here (Computer), these arnt the only times but i feel that these 2 things cause it!

These are seriously scaring me now i dont think i can take much more. I told my mum and she seems to understand but every time i talk to some one i end up crying my eyes out. I've also noticed im getting blurred vision alot, Does this relate to anxiety/depression or is this somthing bad?

hello Gaz
welcome, all your problems could be from anxiety, see a good doc and get checked out
look up these on the net via a search engine
lightheadedness, depersonalisation
they are often caused by anxiety, wear sunglasses, blurred vision or fading vision can come from anxiety
have you got anything particular to be worried or anxious about
more exercise is very relaxing, long walks are very helpful to calm you

Wish I could have read this sooner! Lights a big NO! for me. In fact, I have a sleep mask I put over my eyes. Light tends to flash and distract.
Do you have a favorite movie? A dumb movie that makes you smile, but isn't for everyone? A movie you can move your lips to? When I have a panic attack, I set a timer..the PA usualy last for 30 min unless I keep them going by stressing! and I watch the movie "Overboard". I've watched it a million times when I didn't have enough $ for cable and can let those words wash over me with no need to think.
If you have a close friend, can they just talk about NOTHING to you for a while? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah helps me.
Do you have any connections overseas? Early am calls help. Cold am walks help.
Good therapists are the best help, but they MUST have anxiety experience!
