hey all, for the last couple days ive been feeling sudden rushes of dizziness and that feeling like youve lost all blood to your head. However, i felt fine besides that. I had minor urological suregry 2 weeks ago and it has a minor infection. I dont think its enough to cause this though but my doc gave me antibiotics today. About 4-6 hours ago i started feeling pressure in my ears, head, and slight discomfort in my sinuses. is it possiable that the anitbiotics are just now making an infection noticiable? as i said i havnt felt any ear problems until about 5 hours ago. any ideas

i had the EXECT symptom as you. for days, even from just sitting down, i would feel like i was going to pass out. drove me nuts. it could just be an inner ear infection that will go away with anti-biotics (bacterial labyrinthitus). it could also be the viral for, in that case anti-biotics are useless. its really hard to tell just yet, but if your symptoms persist after the drugs, you should see an ENT (ear, nose, throat) doc who will give you more tests.

Hi,
What type of antibiotic are you on? Did these symptoms start with the antibiotic? Some antibiotics may trigger some ear symptoms although rare. Perhaps viral as Anastasia said.

right now im on levaquin. The dizziness started before the antibiotics so thats not it. Its wierd last night i had a lot of head and sinus pressure but today notta. Ive been feeling disoratinted all day but not just dizzy, also that out of it feeling were i just cant wake up. So im thinking possiably some sore of head congestion? i dunno, ill have to see if these antibiotics clear it up then i suppose off to a head doctor?

hi again,
we call that "out of it" sensation brainfog. it's like terrible medicine-head. if this doesn't clean up for you soon, i think you have what scott and i both have/had. if the ENT can't tell you anything (this is if the symptoms persist) or if he tells you nothing is wrong, you'll have to see a specialist called an Otoneurologist/otologist/neuro-otologist. i don't want ot scare you, but rather prevent you from a very long battle and recovery. i wasn't diognosed until i was a year into it.
good luck, keep us posted

thanks for the replies guys. i was talking to my mother tonight and ever since my father started having fires in the house(bout 1-2 weeks ago)shes been sharing similar problems as me. I dont think its an infection, i havnt had any extreme pain yet and its been about 5 days. She went to a specialist and he said that the wood fires having been drying the air out hence this is affecting her nasal passage and what not. im setting up the humidifier and taking some ear drops, hopefuly this helps. Anyone ever hear of anything like this, i really hope this isnt a long drawn out thing. I just went through 6 months of hell finally getting it fixed with surgery 2 weeks ago. well see. thanks-
