My dr. gave me lexapro b/c of my depression. I looked it up and it said that there was a 3-5% chance of birth defects. I am not willing to take that small risk. I do need something though, this stress will hurt my baby, I'm afraid. Any suggestions?

Hi,
If your doctor knows you are pregnant and has prescribed Lexapro...I would just ask another doctors oppinion if you are concerned. There are a lot of pregnant women who do take antidepressants and even while they have been pregnant. My friend took Celexa through her whole pregnancy--of which her doc prescribed. Just check around for a second oppinion. It may put your mind at ease. Hope that helps.
