My best friend has a 3 week old baby who is missing his corpus colosum within his brain. This corpus colosum (CC) is the membrane which separates the left and right brain. Does anyone know of anyone with this condition? What effects has it had? Thank you!

The question about the friend's baby with the missing corpus colosum was posted 5 years ago, so I'm sure it's been answered by now. But for anyone else who may be looking, the condition is the same one that Ken Peek, the "idiot savant" who the movie Rainman was written about. A show about his life premiered tonight - Nov. 26. The corpus colosum connects the two hemispheres of the brain in a normal person. If the corpus colosum is missing, one of the effects is the savant abilities such as photographic memory. To learn more about one such situation, read about Kim Peek.
