Hey everyone, I finally pulled myself together enough last week to realize I needed help so I went to see a counsellor (ok so my friends practically dragged me there but still...) anyways I've started out on Celexa, and have weekly counselling, and they want me to see a psyciatrist...I'm pretty nervous about it all but I like to tell myself that it really will eventually get better now. What sort of stuff happens at with psyciatrists? And any side effects of Celexa that aren't on the pamplet? I'm starting on a really low dose because I'm terrified of them so I doubt to see any changes good or bad anytime soon but I just want to get opinions from those of you with experience with these things. I'm pretty relieved about going to counselling, she's great (spent the whole day talking with me and the Dr. so I didn't have to keep repeating everything) and that worked pretty well the last time. Anyways happy holidays everyone!

Hi Nark! I am on Celexa too (40mg). The main side effects I have are dry mouth, dry eyes, and some fatigue. Psychiatrists are really no big deal. Sessions last about 30 minutes or less and all they do is monitor the meds. The psychologist and you do the main work. Hope you start feeling better real soon!
